SNOW IS COMING

Snow, snow, NOOOOO! Batton down the hatches, get out the snow boots and extra blankets, and most importantly stock the fridge 'cause The weather is about to get a little wonky!

According to the local weatherman, the Des Moines area could see anywhere between 4-6 inches of the white stuff by early Saturday morning and then it's going to get COLD... like real cold. We're talking 12-16 degrees for the high. I mean, I know none of you are truly surprised, we do live in Iowa for crying out loud. One day it could be 80 degrees and the next it could snow a foot, but I wanted to give you a few tips to make life just a tad bit easier.

1. Stock up on beer! There is going to be plenty of time to sit around on your couch, watching football or whatever housewives show you crave, and sip on a few cold ones.

2. Save space in your fridge by chilling your beverages right outside... just don't let them freeze... that could be a sad disaster.

3. Stop by the store on your way home and grab something new! We have PLENTY of fun new products on the shelf and you might as well grab a 6 pack of something new to go along with that 24pk of Bud, Bud Light, Ultra, or Busch!

    - some packs to consider-

Boulevard Space Camper IPA- is an exhilarating initiation into a mind-bending alternate universe of India Pale Ales. The brewers employ massive hop additions at the end of the boil, and during fermentation, to minimize upfront bitterness and create a juicy IPA bursting with tropical fruit flavor sand aromas of nectar and citrus.

Estrella Jalisco- is made with more than 100 years of tradition in each drop. It is brewed to create the most refreshing blend of aroma and taste using traditional ingredients that make it the pride of Jalisco. A premium pilsner that pours with a pale golden color, has a refreshing and crisp flavor and a pleasantly clean finish with no aftertaste.

Truly Rose- Delicately sweet, slightly tart, and perfectly refreshing with a hint of California Chardonnay grapes. It's your new favorite way to rose'.

Sierra Nevada Sierraveza- Inspired by the classic cervezas served ice cold by the beach, Sierra has created their own take on those light and easy beers born south of the border. Sierraveza is golden and crisp, with a balanced malt flavor and a hint of flora hops that will have you calling out for another round!

Stone Tropic of Thunder Lager- Imagine you set sail for a three hour tour, the weather was getting rough, your tiny ship was tossed. Long story short, you're marooned on a remote island somewhere near the Tropic of Thunder. The good news is that the Capt. of the S.S. Stone  and her brewing kit were among the small cast of colorful characters that survived the rough voyage with you. Mainstays Citra and Mosaic along with newcomer Cashmere hops are joined by their juicy tropical aromas of citrus, pineapple and coconut. The rescue ship will find you all soon enough, but for not set aside the nonworking cell phone and lack of social media, kick back and revel in your moment of tropical island lagoon serenity.

Single Speed A-Two-Hoo - The delicate layering of raspberry, cherry, vanilla, and cocoa within this liquid will result in an ale that is reminiscent of a Tootsie Pop!

Heck! Might as well bundle up and enjoy the weather the best you can by building what I like to call a beer man.... it's basically a snow man but you throw a beer shirt over it instead of a scarf or decorate it with anything beer related.
