Beer Talk- Guthrie's River Ruckus
This July marks a decade of Guthrie's River Ruckus! Ten awesome years of music, friends, beer, and good times!
Founders, Adam Faucher and Grant Sheeder started the festival in their home town of Guthrie Center, Iowa in 2009, as a way to make better use of their town's brand new amphitheater. The duo never imagined the magnitude their show would grow to. Since 2009, they've welcomed acts such as Eric Church, Thomas Rhett, Hank Williams Jr. , Toby Keith, Lee Brice, Chris Young, and Dustin Lynch... just to name a few!

This year they plan to add a few new elements to the weekend....
1st- The Busch Light Watering Hole- Located north of the main campground and just south of the concert area, the Watering Hole, will include inflatable games (Human Foosball, Toxic Meltdown, Bungee Run, and a mechanical Bull), yard games (giant pong, giant Jenga, bags, and giant connect four), ice cold beverages, a big tent and lots of chairs for shade and hanging out, photo opportunities, DJ, and some super cool contests!
Do you want to meet the man, the myth, and the mullet, Mr. Joe... Joe... Joe... JOE DIFFIE? Well, make sure to join us at 2pm on Friday at the Watering Hole, to show off your mullet (can be fake) in the "Angry Orchard, Angry Mullet" contest. Best mullet wins a meet and greet before Joe hits the stage later that evening!
Want a chance to meet Jake Owen? Let's be real... who doesn't? Arrive at 2pm on Saturday at the Watering Hole, with up to 3 of your best friends for Corona's "Find your Beach" contest! The group with the best "Find your Beach" attire will get to meet Jake later that night! Honestly, we're pretty stoked for the Watering Hole. It's going to be one heck of a time! The Watering Hole will be open Friday from 12-6pm with games shutting down at 4pm. Saturday, you can join us from 11am-6pm with games shutting down at 4pm. Happy Hour will be both nights from 5-6 with a 2 for 1 deal on beer!
2nd- The line up! The River Ruckus crew decided to switch things up a little this year with the old school acts on Friday night, with Collin Raye, Sammy Kershaw, Joe Diffie, and .38 Special! Honestly, where can you go and find all of these legends on one stage for one glorious night? I'm only aware of the River Ruckus, so come on over! Saturday night, your ears will be blessed with sounds from Walker McGuire, LANCO, Chris Janson, and Jake Owen! It's bound to be a magical night full of talented and high energy acts! Finally, don't forget to join us Thursday evening in the Watering Hole, where Beau Braswell and Cody Hicks will be kicking off the Ruckus on the free stage!
